I’ve just installed rawdog, an RSS aggregator written in Python that generates a single HTML file as its output. I have that running as a cron job every 5 minutes. I then have a shell script running as another cron job which fetches that HTML file from my web server and e-mails me the changes in context diff format, ie. diff -c oldfile newfile. This also works well for web pages on external servers. It uses /bin/sh, Wget, ELinks, touch and of course, diff. One day I might clean it up and publish it. Mail me if you’d like a copy.
